Privacy Policy

Story Reward ("Story Reward", "we", "us") is a service operated by Restaurant Coach that helps businesses reward Instagram guests who tag them in a Story or comment on a Reel. This policy explains what data we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how you can have it deleted.

Who this applies to

This policy covers three groups of people: the business owners and staff who use the Story Reward dashboard and staff app ("Business Users"), the Instagram guests who tag or comment on a business's content and receive a reward ("Guests"), and visitors to this website.

Data we collect from Business Users

Account details: name, email, phone number, business name and outlet details you give us at setup.
The Instagram Business Account you connect, via Meta's official Instagram Graph API, including the account's basic profile info and the permissions you grant when connecting.
Campaign settings you configure: reward text, dates, minimum Story duration, follower rules, and similar preferences.
Staff PINs and redemption actions performed in the staff app, tied to the staff member who performed them.

Data we collect from Guests

We only process Guest data that is necessary to detect a qualifying tag or comment, verify it, and deliver a reward:

The Instagram @username that tagged the venue in a Story, or commented the reward keyword on a Reel.
Whether the tagging or commenting account is public or private, and (where a campaign requires it) an approximate follower count, checked at the moment of the tag or comment and again at redemption.
The content of a qualifying comment, used only to match the reward keyword — we do not read or store unrelated comments.
The automated Instagram direct message we send with the reward code, and whether that code was later redeemed, at which outlet, and by which staff member.

We do not collect a Guest's real name, phone number, email, payment details or any Instagram content beyond what is described above. We never sell Guest data.

Why we process this data

To detect a qualifying Story tag or Reel comment and confirm it meets the Business User's campaign rules.
To send the automated reward message and code, and to prevent the same reward being claimed twice by the same account.
To let the Business User see redemption, staff and revenue analytics for their own campaigns.
To keep the service secure and to meet Meta's Platform Terms for apps that use the Instagram Graph API.

How long we keep it

Campaign and redemption records are kept for as long as the Business User's account is active, plus a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and dispute purposes, unless a Guest asks us to delete their data sooner (see below). Data used purely for fraud checks at the time of a tag or comment is kept only as long as needed to complete that check.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent data. We share data only with: Meta, through the official Instagram Graph API, as required to operate the service; the Business User whose campaign a Guest interacted with, limited to what is described above; and infrastructure providers (such as our hosting provider) who process data on our behalf under standard confidentiality terms. We do not share Guest data across unrelated businesses.

Your rights and deletion requests

Guests: to have your data deleted, send the message "DELETE MY DATA" to the business's Instagram account, or use our Data Deletion page. We will remove the data described above within a reasonable time.

Business Users: email us at askrestaurantcoach@gmail.com to access, correct or delete your account data, or to disconnect your Instagram account at any time from the dashboard.

If you are in India, this is handled consistent with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you are elsewhere, you may have equivalent rights under your local law — contact us and we will do our best to assist.

Security

We use industry-standard measures (encrypted connections, access controls on staff PINs, and restricted database access) to protect the data described above. No system is completely secure, and we encourage Business Users to keep staff PINs confidential.

Children

Story Reward is intended for use by businesses and their adult guests. We do not knowingly target or collect data specifically from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date above.
